Ms. Mulcahy began her career as a Xerox field sales representative in 1976. Appointed CEO of Xerox in 2001 and Chairman in 2002, she has re-engineered Xerox into an innovative technology and services enterprise. Building on Xerox's rich heritage of social responsibility, Ms. Mulcahy ensures that the company's business decisions and actions are aligned with a clear set of corporate values.
In addition to the Xerox board, Ms. Mulcahy is a board director of Citigroup Inc., Target Corporation and The Washington Post Company and is the chairman of the corporate governance task force of the Business Roundtable. She is also a board member of Catalyst, a nonprofit organization supporting women in business.
In 2008, Chief Executive Magazine named her CEO of the year.
